Hi Finch Family,
I am the great granddaughter of John Rud Finch, son of Daniel Finch 1816.
I see your message board is missing information on John Rud and his
descendants.
I have information from John Rud 1868 and his offspring.
Also you have listed that Charles B. Finch's wife was Isabel Hartford, we
have her
listed as Isabel Hatfield. Please clarify-
The site notes a family group sheet on file for Charles Brannon Finch. Is it
possible
to obtain this list? Having Isabel on record as Hatfield and not Hartford means
something somewhere is off.
Looking for anyone who is also a descendant of John Rud
Finch.
John Rud Finch Born May 28 1868 in Cambridge, Story Co. Iowa:
Died September 14 1942 Paducah, Cottle, Texas (Uremic Toxemia)

My name is Mary Ann Finch Hall. My father and his family have been in
Texas
for at least 5 or 6 generations. My family has never been researched until
I became
interested in doing so.
I have been reading your genealogy web site on the Finch family and wonder
if
we are not a branch of the same Finch Family. My father was a Willie
Douglas
Finch, son of Robert Finch and Grandson of ---------
Finch, who had a brother
named George Finch. Your site shows a George Finch that
moved away from
Oklahoma and was never heard from again. I wonder if this could have been
the
same George Finch or an ancestor of that George Finch. The first records
that
I know of are in Lamar County, Texas. My grandfather died when I was
young.
I did not know him very well as we lived in West Texas and made the trip to
East
Texas maybe once a year while he was alive. As roads got better, we made
the
trip more often.
I just wondered if you had any further info that might lead me in searching for
my
roots. I would like to know something about my father's side of the
family.
Any info would be appreciated
Mary Ann Finch Hall

My Great Great Grandfather was Marcus L. Finch (birth in 1844). He
married
a woman named Medora and he settled in WI. I believe his father may
have been
Daniel King Finch, son of Samuel Finch (birth - about 1794).
Your history on the children of Samuel Finch and Mary (Polly) King only lists a
David
born June 27, 1788. Does anyone have information that would connect Marcus
to
Daniel King Finch and then Daniel to Samuel Finch and Mary (Polly) King?
Thank you, Ruth Ann krsobnosky@windstream.net

Re: Elisha

Author: Julie
Date: November

Hi there,
My name is Julie and I have done some research regarding Elisha Finch.
Elisha was born in March 10, 1792 and died March 17, 1864. He was born in
Rensselaer County, New York and lived there his entire life. He is buried
at the
Old Finch Family Farm in New York. He married Fanney ? and
had two children.
The difficulty that I am having researching Elisha is that he was deaf. It
appears
that he participated in limited documentation. I used old bank records to find
what
information I could. I also used the census information. Elisha had one
son Edward,
I do not know much about him. His other son Oscar M. "M"
I believe is Melvin, Finch,
my ggg grandfather. His son, Melvin Roscoe Finch, also born in New York
is who
moved out west. His son, Melvin Blaine Finch is where I get some more
family history.
I really hope some of this helps. Look forward to hearing from you. I am
not positive who
Elisha father was and was looking for some help from the website.

Hi, I am writing for any help with one John Finch, active probably in the
New York
City area in 1812. I am looking at an 1812 novel titled The
Soldier's Orphan, published
anonymously in 1812 by C.S. Van Winkle, printer of New York (at 122 Water St.).
The novel has been attributed to one John Finch in early sources, but
little about
him is indicated in the references to the novel. I would be grateful for
any help locating
a NY area John Finch. My email address is alamance@gmail.com.
Thank you.

Any

Hi
Everyone, I'm writing on behalf of Bill Finch:
I don't
know if any of you know it, but Bill Finch, the former Chief of Police (also
mayor
of
Sterling) has passed away (February 27, 2009). I only learned of this a few days
ago.
Bill

related
to me
through a great-great grandfather, and I am Suzanne Finch Kessler, the
granddaughter
of
William Franklin Finch (a lawyer later in West Palm Beach, Florida) the son of
Thomas
Finch
of Alabama. Here is the Obit for Bill Finch, which I found tonight online,
and he
had
quite a lot of public service in his life.

Hello. I am hoping that you could possibly help me as to an enquiry into my
Finch family

He had

and one sister
called Violet
Finch. When I was a child we
visited my grandmothers house in lower
Edmonton,
North London, which only included my grandmother and aunt. This all ceased

anyone can help me,

Hi, I couldn't get this on your meassage board, and would appreciate it if you
could
somehow post it.
Elizabeth Ellison
married _____ Finch. Her brother John Ellison Sr. left her 100
pounds in his will
of 1719, proved 1721. These Finches were from New York probably
from either
Hempstead Queens, Long Island area or New York City. Finding out
where
they lived could
prove that John Allison 1652-1721 was my 6th GGrandfather.
Interestingly, the
Ellisons/Allisons were 1630 Puritans who seemed to follow the same
path as the Finch
family from Mass. to Weathersfield to Stamford and even to
Orange
Co. NY by
1720.
Hope you can help
me and best wishes for the holidays. Thanks.

Looking for
information on Edwin Finch or his wife Eliza. Edwin was born in
1810 in New

Macomb Co.,
Michigan for sure. I think it is also the same Edwin Finch in
the 1840
Census for Sterling, Macomb Co., Michigan. I can go no further
back. Does
anyone have information on where Edwin was specifically born or
who his
parents might be? [Post

It
has been my hope to find descendants of William LaPine / Lepine and Ada
Dunham
of New York.
Matilda
Brown.
Rebecca Georgianna
(who m. Fred McIntyre), Lola (who died young), and her twin sister,
Addie (who married
James L. Ingraham.) I’m told that William C. had a twin name Wallace
that died with-in
his first year of birth but I do know that Wm. went on to marry and had a
son named Porter
Dunham.
William and Ada
LaPine (Lapine) had 5 children that I know of:
remained in
Oneonta, Otsego Co., NY.
2. Nellie M. b. Oct 1885 who
married Guy Finch. Their children were Frank L. Finch,
Lottie A. Finch,
and Bert Finch. Last I know of, their family
lived in
Co.
3. George M. Lapine born
1887 married Alta M. Southworth. They had at least 2 daughters,
Madeline &
Marie. I think they lived in
Unadilla but later moved to Binghamton, Broome
Co., NY (?)
4. Joseph b. April 1890 married
Ethel K. King and they had at least 3 children: Edward H.,
John K., and James
H.,.. They moved to Yuba City, Sutter
Co.,
and Ethel remained
there. I have no idea what became of their sons.
5. Frank W. born July 1891. I
think Frank married and lived in
his life. I
do not think he ever had any children.
